The College Relations Committee reaches out to university and college students in the Sarasota-Manatee area to introduce the field of Human Resources. In addition to providing an introduction to the field of Human Resources, students are exposed to training, offered guidance, and provided with interview skills and resume writing, as needed. SHRA student membership offers the opportunity to network with a variety of professionals within the human resource field. These interchanges may assist with job placement, internships, a mentor, etc.
Individuals who are actively enrolled full time in an accredited HR degree program at the college or university level shall be designated as student members. Student members may not vote and may not hold office in SHRA.
To qualify for the SHRA student membership, an individual must be enrolled in either an undergraduate or a graduate degree program at an accredited college or university, focusing on the study of human resources, with a minimum of six credits. Membership is available for up to three years before converting to a professional membership. Membership is evaluated annually. Proof of student status is required. Students must be living or attending school in Sarasota or Manatee County.
Student eligibility is dependent on being a SHRM student member (SHRM membership # and expiration date required when joining).
