CODE OF ETHICS AND CONDUCT
As Ratified August, 2006
This Code of Conduct for SHRA has been adopted to promote and maintain the highest standards of professional and personal conduct among its members. By joining SHRA, a member indicates his/her support for upholding this Code and the understanding of his/her individual responsibility to act in accordance with the following items, thereby assuring that all Chapter activities support the development, networking, and educational intents of this professional organization.
As a member, guest, sponsor, or participant of a SHRA activity, to project the “highest standards of professional and personal conduct, I pledge to:

Maintain the highest standards of professional and personal conduct at all times.

Support SHRM and SHRA’s goals and objectives for developing the human resource management profession.

Strive for personal growth in the field of human resource management.

Support the concept that SHRA activities are times for professional development and networking.

Refrain from sales solicitation or personal promotion at SHRA activities, unless specifically authorized as a program sponsor.

Honor the privacy of others and refrain from using contacts made through SHRA membership at SHRA activities for the purpose of commercial solicitation unless invited to do so.

Instill in the public and other SHRA members a sense of confidence about my conduct and intentions.

Abide by the laws, regulations and standards of ethics related to my own affairs and the Human Resource profession, and the rules and procedures pertaining to the activity at hand.

Refrain from using my official position, either regular or volunteer, to secure special privilege, gain or benefit for myself.

Maintain the confidentiality of privileged information.
By accepting membership or participating in a SHRA activity, I agree to the above.
