On January 19, 2009, eight members of the SHRA Board of Directors participated in the HR Florida Leadership Conference, held in Tampa. We spent the day gathering information on how to better serve our organization, and networking with other SHRM chapters from around the state.

On November 14, 2008 SHRA and Manatee Community College hosted Strategic Leadership 2008: Bringing Your Organization to the Leading Edge. The conference was held at MCC Lakewood Ranch and was attended by over 100 HR professionals. Keynote speaker, Gwen MacKenzie, President and CEO of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System focused on how creating sustainable competive advantage for an organization only comes from a visionary leader with a commitment to making a difference.
