Speaker: Patricia A. Mathews

Patricia Mathews, Principal Consultant at Workplace Experts, has over thirty years of experience in Human Resources Management and Organizational Development. After working in large organizations in positions such as Vice President of Human Resources for the Argosy Gaming Company and Human Resources Director for Anheuser-Busch Companies, she started her own consulting practice in 1999.  Pat works with clients in Florida and throughout the U.S.  

 

Topic: 6 KEY PRACTICES FOR ATTRACTING AND RETAINING GOOD WORKERS

 

Program Description: In today’s job market, it is not enough to focus on what an organization pays or its benefits package. It’s the entire “employee experience” that an organization offers that predicts how successful it will be in attracting and retaining workers.

Whether formal or informal, an organization’s employee value proposition or EVP, when successfully integrated with certain key HR practices, plays a strategic role in attracting and retaining workers – particularly critical skill employees, top performers and high potentials. Your organization’s EVP is an important factor in why an individual would choose to leave their current employer and join your organization, and why your employees would choose to continue their employment with your organization.

And yet in many organizations Human Resources and Marketing do not always work together to communicate the “deal” to prospective and current employees to help them see and understand the value of working for the organization.

 

 

Session Objectives:

At the end of this session, participants will:

1.    Understand of the concept of Employee Value Proposition (EVP), and its impact on the success of for-profit and non-profit organizations.

2.    Learn the compelling role an organization’s EVP plays in attracting and retaining workers who are a good fit for the organization, and why Human Resources needs to collaborate with Marketing to apply EVP to the entire “employee experience.”

3.    Understand the importance of integrating the organization’s employee value proposition with six key HR practices to create a compelling workplace that attracts new workers and supports the retention of the current workforce.
