Workshop Overview

According to a recent blog from the Wall Street Journal, October 2016 was a record month for mergers and acquisitions. The deal volume of $248.9 billion topped the previous record of $240.2 billion from last July.

As more and more organizations make the decision to join forces to maximize revenue, diversify products/services and investments, and leverage economies of scale, HR leaders with their direct link to the people, the most valuable M&A asset, play a critical role in the deal’s success. In addition to decisions on tactical issues such as benefits, HRIS, and compensation, HR leaders add their greatest value by effectively addressing employee concerns, aligning the organizational structure with the new strategic direction, redefining roles, and integrating cultures.

As a former CHRO of an organization where mergers and acquisitions were a fundamental part of our growth strategy, I had the privilege of leading the people-side of two acquisitions and three mergers. PEOPLE: The Key to a Successful M&A Integration will outline for participants the deliberate and intentional steps taken, challenges/obstacles overcome, mistakes made, and systems implemented to drive success. This will all be done while providing participants with a framework for leading the people-side of an M&A integration.

  2. Learn the key people factors that must be reviewed/evaluated in both companies when considering an M&A

Tony Moore

Tony Moore is a Culture Architect, Speaker, Trainer, and recovering Human Resource Executive. For more than 20 years, Tony has held leadership positions in social service agencies whose primary focus has been the health and well-being of children. Most recently, Tony held the position of Chief of Organizational Development for a national non-profit organization where he helped design and build the organization’s culture and led the people-side of multiple mergers and acquisitions. Believing PEOPLE are the BRIDGE between strategy & execution, his firm, Tony More Speaks, helps organizations design BRIDGE Strengthening Cultures.
